Security Considerations
SparkChain Network is built on Arbitrum Orbit as an L3 chain, specifically designed to support decentralized applications (dapps), which will play a pivotal role in the future of SparkPoint's ecosystem. However, there are some risks to be aware of before using the system:
Bugs
Offchain Labs' implementation of the Arbitrum protocol (and consequently, the SparkChain Network) has been meticulously developed, is continuously audited by multiple independent firms, and undergoes regular reviews and testing according to best engineering practices. Despite these precautions, there remains a small possibility that the codebase contains undiscovered vulnerabilities that could pose a risk to user funds. Users should consider this risk when deciding to use SparkChain Network and when determining how much value to entrust to the system.
Scams
Like Ethereum, SparkChain Network is a permissionless platform, meaning anyone can deploy any smart contract code. Users should approach interacting with contracts on SparkChain Network with the same caution they would on Ethereum—only interact if you have a high level of trust in the security of the application.
Reporting Bugs and Scams
Offchain Labs sponsors a multi-million-dollar bug bounty program to encourage responsible disclosure of any critical bugs.
Additionally, some tools available to the SparkChain Network community and its ecosystem of developers are created by third parties under the guidance of the SparkChain Foundation.
For bugs related to these tools (or if you're unsure who to report a bug to), please reach out via the SparkChain Network Support email ([email protected]).
